Cash on delivery in the order

  1. At checkout they choose a carrier. Cash on delivery is offered only if it applies to that carrier, currency and the country of the delivery address.
  2. Next to the Cash on delivery option (or under your name) they see the amount of the surcharge.
  3. After choosing cash on delivery, the surcharge is added to the cart as a line and the order summary is refreshed. The summary has a Cash on delivery surcharge line.
  4. If the customer chooses another payment, the surcharge line is removed.
  5. After confirming the order they see a cash on delivery summary in the order confirmation and in the order detail in My account: the surcharge and the amount to pay on receipt.
  • It checks the rules again (carrier, currency, country). If they do not match, it does not accept cash on delivery.
  • It adds the hidden product “Cash on delivery fee” to the cart, with a price valid only for this cart, and creates the order.
  • It stores the surcharge and the amount to pay with the order.
  • On an error it removes the surcharge line from the cart and returns the customer to checkout.

The surcharge price is always recalculated at confirmation.

The order detail has a Cash on delivery (Dobierka) panel showing:

  • the payment method,
  • the surcharge,
  • the amount the carrier collects on delivery.

After confirmation the order gets the status you set (by default Preparation in progress).
