Troubleshooting

Check that the server may call www.ecb.europa.eu over HTTPS (hosting firewall, the cURL extension). Rates stay unchanged meanwhile.

The ECB does not publish the rate of the default currency

Section titled “The ECB does not publish the rate of the default currency”

The module works only with currencies the ECB lists (e.g. CZK, PLN, HUF, USD). If the ECB does not publish your currency’s rate, there is nothing to take it from.

The history shows the reason:

  • waiting for confirmation (the change exceeded the allowed limit): confirm it,
  • skipped (the rate was already written),
  • error (e.g. the ECB did not respond).

A rate changed by itself after I edited it by hand

Section titled “A rate changed by itself after I edited it by hand”

At the next run the module resets the rate to the ECB value with the markup. If you want your own rate, turn off updating for that currency.

Look at the time of the last update in the Rate status panel. Check the cron setting and the server time zone (with UTC set 14:30 in summer or 15:30 in winter).

Neither the admin nor the shop works after an update

Section titled “Neither the admin nor the shop works after an update”

If an update fails, it usually rolls back by itself. If it did not, the original version is saved in this folder:

modules/.mvkit/backup/mv_currencyrate@<version>

Rename the modules/mv_currencyrate folder (e.g. to mv_currencyrate_new) and rename the backup folder to mv_currencyrate. The settings remained in the database.

If you cannot solve a problem, write to support via the contact page and include:

  • the module version (shown in the License panel) and the PrestaShop version,
  • the exact error text (ideally a screenshot),
  • a description of what you did and what you expected,
  • the address of your shop.

Support and updates are included for the first 12 months after purchase.
