Settings and database status

Open the settings via Modules → Module Manager → WEB Vision – Aktualizácia GeoIP databázy → Configure.

The panel shows:

  • the status of the database,
  • the release date and size,
  • the time of the last update,
  • the Update now button.

The module also warns if geolocation is off in PrestaShop or the database is old.

The panel contains:

  • the address and commands for cron,
  • the Create a new address button, which changes the token. The old address then stops working and you must copy the new one into cron.

The address has a random token (32 characters).

  1. The module downloads GeoLite2-City.mmdb.gz into a temporary file (at most 200 MB, a 5-minute limit).
  2. It unpacks it and checks it: size, the MaxMind format mark, opening with PrestaShop’s reader, the City database type and a test lookup.
  3. Only then it replaces the file PrestaShop uses. Only one update runs at a time.
  4. It writes the result into the module settings and into Advanced Parameters → Logs.

If the check fails, the original database stays.
