Installation and first run

The whole first setup takes about 10 minutes. We recommend doing it first in the Test environment and switching to live operation only after you have tried it out.

Have the following ready from your digital postman’s portal:

  • the Client ID,
  • the API key (it starts with vpt_…). It is shown only once when created, so save it.
  1. Download the module in your customer account under My account → My modules. The license file is already included in the package.
  2. In the PrestaShop admin, open Modules → Module Manager and click Upload a module.
  3. Select the downloaded ZIP file. Once it is uploaded, install the module.
  4. Click Configure next to the module.

The license file license.lic is included in the package, so the license is installed automatically.

Open Configure next to the module. The module guides you through the tabs 1. Connection (1. Pripojenie) → 2. Company (2. Firma) → 3. Payments (3. Platby) → 4. Sending (4. Odosielanie).

  1. On tab 1. Connection choose the provider and the Test environment (Testovacie), and enter the Client ID and API key.
  2. Click Save and test connection (Uložiť a otestovať pripojenie). The module checks the access and automatically loads your company data (name, company ID, tax ID, VAT ID, address and Peppol ID) from the provider’s portal. Empty fields are filled in from the shop contacts.
  3. On tab 3. Payments, fill in your IBAN.
  4. On tab 4. Sending, choose when invoices should be sent (we recommend turning on Send when the invoice is issued).
  5. At the top, in the Setup status (Stav nastavenia) panel, check that every item has a green mark. A red mark shows what is still missing. Click it to open the relevant tab.

A full description of all fields is in Settings.

A general procedure for setting up cron is in the guide How to set up cron.

Cron is a task that runs regularly on the server. The module needs it to:

  • retry failed attempts,
  • find out whether a document was delivered and reported to the Financial Administration,
  • send delayed documents.

You will find the cron address in the module settings, in the panel at the top. Add it to the task scheduler (cron) of your hosting, ideally every 5 to 10 minutes:

*/10 * * * * curl -s "https://your-shop.com/module/mv_peppol/cron?token=..." >/dev/null

Copy the real address with the token from the module settings. Under it you also see the time of the last run. If it says “Cron has not run yet” (Cron zatiaľ nebežal), cron is not set up correctly yet.

While the environment is Test, documents are not delivered to real customers. Try at least:

  • an ordinary order from a company (with a tax ID),
  • an order with a discount,
  • an order with free shipping,
  • an order paid by card,
  • a credit note.

For each, use XML preview (Náhľad XML) in the order detail and Validate with the provider (Validovať u poskytovateľa) in the document detail. If everything passes, you can switch to live operation.

  1. On tab 1. Connection, change Environment to Live (Ostrá prevádzka).
  2. Enter the live Client ID and API key (test and live data are different).
  3. Click Save and test connection.
  4. If a warning says the company is not registered in the Peppol network, finish choosing the provider in the Financial Administration portal. See Troubleshooting.

The module license is perpetual and valid for one paid domain, its subdomains and local copies. The price includes 12 months of updates and support, which can be extended.

  • You can see the license status in the last License panel in the module settings. You can also upload a new .lic file there.
  • Without a valid license the module does not work. The settings show only the License panel.
  • Moving to another domain: the module keeps working for another 14 days with a warning, then it switches off. You change the domain in your customer account (My account → My modules).
  • When the 12 months of updates end, the module keeps working; you just do not receive new versions.
  • Multistore is supported if all shops run on the licensed domain or its subdomains (e.g. eshop.sk and wholesale.eshop.sk).
  • At most once a day (when you open the settings) the module checks the license and looks for new versions. It sends only the license number, the domains and the versions of the module, PrestaShop and PHP.

Without a valid license the module does not send, but nothing is lost: documents stay in the queue and are sent once a valid license is uploaded.

If a new version is available and your updates are active, the License panel (the last panel in the module settings) shows an Update to X.Y.Z button.

  1. Click the button and wait. Do not close the page; it takes a few minutes at most.
  2. The module downloads the new version from moduly.webvision.sk, checks it and installs it.
  3. The original version is saved as a backup. If the update fails, it is restored automatically.

What is new in the version is shown in the What’s new drop-down in the same panel.

  • Major versions (e.g. from 1.x to 2.0) may change behavior or settings. Read the changes before updating; the link is next to the button.
  • If several WEB Vision modules have a new version, the Update all WEB Vision modules button updates them at once.
  • If updates have ended (the 12 months are over), the module keeps working. You can download a new version after extending your updates in your customer account.
  • Rolling back: the Roll back version button is in the License panel under Details.
  • An overview of available updates is on the Module updates page.
