WEB Vision – Custom order reference
The module sets a custom order code (reference) instead of PrestaShop’s random letters (e.g. XKBKNABJK). The code can have a prefix and a numbering series by year or month. You get a clearer overview in the admin, in e-mails to the customer and in accounting.
What the module does
Section titled “What the module does”- A prefix before the code (optional, text or a number, at most 10 characters). It tells apart several shops or numbering series.
- A code format of your choice, e.g. with the prefix
WVand 4 digits:
| Format | Example |
|---|---|
| Random numeric code | WV482913057 |
| Order ID | WV0042 |
| Year + order ID | WV20260042 |
| Short year + order ID | WV260042 |
| Sequence number within the year | WV0042 |
| Year + sequence number within the year | WV20260042 |
| Short year + sequence number within the year | WV260042 |
| Short year + month + sequence number within the month | WV26100042 |
- The sequence number is the number of orders in that year (month). In a new year (month) it starts again from 1. The Sequence from 1 in a new year switch (on by default) can turn this off, then there is one continuous series.
- Advanced: the number of digits (zero padding), the separator between parts (
-,/,.) and the length of the random code. - The code is set right after the order is saved, before payment and e-mails.
